Why Choose Africatravelco

For over 17 years Africa Travel Co has operated overland adventures throughout southern and eastern Africa.
This experience combined with our professional attitude has resulted in Africa Travel Co forming secure relationships with reputable travel agents and wholesalers worldwide.
These partners support and recommend us knowing that we offer a quality product and unbeatable service in everything we do.
There are some essentials you need to consider and compare when deciding which overland company to travel with, and below are the reasons why you will get the best overland experience with Africa Travel Co.
It is important to choose a company that is based in the countries you plan to travel through.
Being an African based company means we are very 'hands on' with what is happening in and around southern and eastern Africa.
We are also a registered company in five of the ten counties we travel though.
We employ local people as crew on the road and to staff our regional offices; thus contributing to the local economy of the countries we operate in.
Travelling with African crew also provides our clients with a true insight into African culture.
The crew on any trip you book, anywhere in the world, is one of the most important requirements of making your trip enjoyable.
We believe by having three crew members; the Trip Leader, the Driver and the Safari Cook, on most of our trips, is a big bonus on an overland trip through Africa.
Our Trip Leaders are all trained 'on the road' prior to leading a trip and have a good knowledge of the counties we travel through.
Their leadership and organisation skills will ensure the smooth running of your trip. Most of our loyal Drivers and Safari Cooks have been with us for many years; some since we started out over 17 year ago.
Our Drivers have a lot of experience driving overland trucks and come from a strong mechanical back ground. Your safety too is their top priority.

Our trips are renowned for their delicious meals, and there is nothing better than sitting around a campfire after a day of travelling to a scrumptious dinner that has been prepared by one of our local Safari Cooks.
Our crew are there to share their passion for Africa with you, they very much take part in what happens on a daily basis on your tour, and will show you the time of your life when travelling with us! With three operational bases throughout southern and eastern Africa, we are the only overland company to offer such a comprehensive support system within Africa.

Our offices are structured as follows: South Africa, Cape Town: This is our main reservations office, which offers a full booking and information service to our clients and agents.
Our highly experienced reservation team will answer all of your questions and help you through every stage when making a booking with us.

Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls: This office is conveniently situated in the town centre and our friendly staff will gladly assist you when booking activities in and around Victoria Falls during, before or after your overland trip.
If you are finishing in Victoria Falls, why not spoil yourself and arrange a few days in a nice hotel after your trip? You are welcome to chat to them when you are in Victoria Falls about all the amazing things you can do there!

Kenya, Nairobi: This is a full retail office specialising in flights and packages in and around East Africa. Our staff has an extensive knowledge of East Africa and will gladly recommend a trip that suits your needs.
Feel free to email them before your arrival to arrange an East African holiday of a lifetime.

Each of our offices has depots with fully functional workshops staffed with qualified mechanics. This is where our vehicles are serviced before and after each trip.
All vehicles and equipment are checked and cleaned, which ensures everything is ready to go before the departure of a trip. Our experience over the years has shown us that with the popularity and success of our trips, together with the reliability of our vehicles and loyalty of our trip and workshop crew, that this gives us the confidence to guarantee our departure dates.
We believe that currently Africa Travel Co are the only responsible operator to make this offer to our clients, so that when you make your booking you can be confident that you will go on the overland trip of your choice.
Knowing that the trip is guaranteed to depart is a very important factor when arranging your holiday, especially when there are flights involved.
Most of our trips operate in both a north and a south bound direction, offering you the flexibility to fly into the most convenient departure point of a trip that suits you.
This also means that if a south bound trip is fully booked you can enquire about the same trip in a northbound direction. With our frequent guaranteed departure dates there is definitely no shortage of choice of how, and from where to travel with us.

Over the years we have closely developed our routes we travel on through Africa. We believe that our itineraries are very well set out and cover all the major highlights and much more.
Our trips range between 3 days to 56 days, which means Africa Travel Co can offer something that will suit the need of every adventure traveller!
Because Africa Travel Co run a fleet of our own vehicles, and all our operations are Africa-based, our prices are very competitive.
When you compare our trip price with other companies you will see that you get what you pay for in terms of what we guarantee in this brochure.
There are no hidden costs and you will be happy to know once we set our Trip Prices they are guaranteed.
Our trips are excellent value for money, without giving away any quality.
We actually add extra value to any trip of 10 days or longer, starting or ending in Nairobi or Victoria Falls, by offering you a free 3-day safari to the Masai Mara in Kenya or Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe (excluding Local Payment). Please see page 3 for details.
No other company offers free extra trips such as these, making your overland adventure with Africa Travel Co especially good value for money.

We believe in showing our clients a real and authentic experience in Africa that also benefits the environment and local people in the counties we travel through.
We do this by supporting local community projects and respecting the environment by only leaving our foot prints!
